Alongside the elegant gift was a handwritten note, addressed simply to “Mr. Tarkenton,” which read: “Your legacy paved the way for all of us in purple and gold. It’s an honor to continue what you started. Thank you for everything.”
Tarkenton, a legend whose impact on the franchise transcends numbers, was visibly moved. He responded with grace and humility, saying, “Justin Jefferson is a bright light in the new era of Vikings football. It’s a joy to watch him carry the torch with such pride.”
